No this is not a joke! Marmot and his friend are just having some well-deserved rest time together…

Really would anyone tell me how Marmot found a straw which works only in one direction to drink underwater? I tell you, this guy is a genius!
Also don’t tell me, I know. If you leave in UK, Australia, South Africa or New Zealand, we are definitely April Fools to you! I know, we are late: noon is passed!
But to excuse Marmot and I, first we would like to state this is not really a joke, but an historical research on the source of all the jokes!
And second, I was just trying to be the 1st of April in the most places possible at the same time (though it is not possible everywhere. For those in the Tonga kingdowm or in the Chatham islands of New Zealand, you are already the second. For other parts of New Zealand though… I don’t know. Is midnight already tomorrow or still today?). And that’s UTC-0!

I used the astronomical year (very close itself to the solar year) of 365.25 days of 86400 seconds (which is indeed 24 hours) as a calculation base. Haven’t you ever wondered why our calendar use a leap year system? That’s because the calendar year waits for the late solar year.
And did you know there even exists leap seconds? Indeed, sometimes (it can happen the 30th of June or the 31st of December), it is twice midnight! Yes it means you can repeat very fast twice “Happy new year” and try to kiss your dream girl twice as much (and maybe get slapped twice… or not).
Ok so this knowledge second was a little tiring. Let’s go back to sleep.

It is sometimes nice to remember that life may not be about leaving something extraordinary after it, but may be simply about leaving something for us while living it. Therefore there is no waste in rest, only some rest to waste.
Maybe it is indeed laziness. Yep I agree with Marmot then: let’s be lazy.

And did you notice?! The good ol’ sock slides down too. It’s gravity!

Welcome to the thought diary of Marmot.

Note that according to Wikipedia (the French one, no such information on the English one), a normal marmot’s burrow would be around 2 meters long for a half meter large… though we might wonder if Marmot is a normal marmot anyway?

Eh don’t look at me like this, by the way! Haven’t you ever lied down on a couch’s backrest, imitating an old sock in its better days? I’m sure you have. Everyone has!
